Animate photo
Animate a Photo with AI
Upload an image and describe the motion — Wibee turns your photo into a short video. Bring a portrait, a landscape, or an old picture to life.
The short version
- What is it?
- Animating a photo means creating a short video from a still image with AI. The picture starts to move — expression, wind, camera motion.
- How does it work?
- You upload a photo and a text description of the motion you want, and Wibee's AI generates a video from it in a few minutes.
- Who is it for?
- For bringing family archives and old photos to life, for stories and reels, for original gifts and social content.
- How do I do it in Wibee?
- Open the Wibee studio in animation mode, upload a photo, describe the motion, pick a duration, and start the video generation.
What the service can do
The animation mode takes a still frame and builds motion onto it from your description.
Video from a single shot
Your source stays the first frame, so you can see what the motion grew out of.
You direct the motion
A short line like “slow camera push in, wind in the hair” drives what happens in the frame.
Two durations
A 5- or 10-second clip; the ten-second one costs exactly twice as much.
Ready-made preset reels
If you would rather not build a scene from scratch, some catalog presets already include a short video.
How the technology works
An image-to-video model does the work: your frame and your text go in, a sequence of frames with motion comes out.
The frame as an anchor
Composition, light and appearance come from the uploaded shot, so the video does not drift into a different scene.
Text as direction
Your description sets camera and subject movement; the more concrete it is, the more predictable the result.
An asynchronous queue
Video takes longer than an image, so the job lives in a queue and survives a page reload.
Which photo to upload
The video model builds motion on top of the original composition — the cleaner it is, the fewer artefacts appear.
Works well
- A sharp frame with one clear subject.
- Free space around the edges: the camera needs somewhere to move.
- Even, unblown lighting — otherwise motion will emphasise the noise.
- One or two people in frame; more faces mean more distortion.
Better replaced
- Screenshots and photos of photos — moiré gets worse in motion.
- Dense collages and frames where the subject is cropped by the border.
- Heavy foreground bokeh: the model reads it as a subject.
- Frames with small text — it dissolves in video.
What you get
The output is a short clip, vertical or horizontal, fit for social media.
A 5- or 10-second clip
Duration is chosen before the run and directly drives the token price.
A file, not a player link
The video downloads in full and stays yours afterwards.
Your shot as frame one
Handy for before/after comparisons and for post covers.
Slower than an image
Video usually takes a few minutes; you can close the page.
Example use cases
Animating an archive photo
A family shot gains subtle motion — a glance, wind, a camera push.
A reel cover
A still turns into the opening seconds of a video instead of a frozen image.
A product card
A gentle camera move around an object, with no film crew involved.
A dated greeting
A short clip in place of an ordinary photo in a message.
How to animate a photo
- 1
Upload the photo you want to bring to life.
- 2
Describe the motion: a smile, a head turn, wind, camera movement.
- 3
Choose the video duration.
- 4
Start the generation and download the finished clip.
Limitations
What the video model handles poorly — better known upfront.
- Speech is not lip-synced: the mode has no lip-sync at all.
- Complex hand and finger motion often breaks on longer clips — the shorter duration is more stable.
- The model adds no new characters and changes no plot: it continues what is already in the frame.
- There is no audio in the result — it is a video track.
- You may only upload your own photos or images you hold the rights to — this is confirmed before every run.
- Adult material, images of children in inappropriate contexts and attempts to pass a result off as a real event are rejected by moderation.
- Generated files are kept for 7 days — download them right away; the operation history stays in your profile either way.

Frequently asked questions
What photo works best for animation?
Any clear photo — a portrait, a landscape, or an old family picture.
Do I need to describe the motion?
Yes, a short description helps the AI understand how to bring the frame to life.
What durations are available?
You can choose 5 or 10 seconds.
What format do I get?
The finished video can be downloaded and shared on social media and messengers.
How do 5 and 10 seconds differ?
Only in duration and price: a ten-second clip costs exactly twice a five-second one.
Do I have to write a prompt?
Yes — a short motion description is required; it is what separates animation from a static image.
Can I animate someone else’s photo?
Only if you hold rights to the image and have the depicted person’s consent. This is confirmed before the run.
What happens if video generation fails?
Tokens are refunded automatically: the refund is computed from the unfinished slot, not requested by hand.
